Singin' in the Rain” by Gene Kelly & “Skål!” by Miracle of Sound
Justin is currently the IT Coordinator at The Heritage. Growing up in Hutto, Texas, he loved country music, though his musical tastes have evolved over time. He first met Ann during the pandemic while working at the Guard House enjoying conversations with her and her husband. After joining the Maintenance team, Justin continued to engage in friendly chats with her. Now serving as the IT Coordinator, he regularly interacts with her.
Why does this song give you courage?
I am an open individual and always ready to share a table with anyone. As long as you have peace in your heart and an open spirit, you are welcome!
What did you learn about Ann?
I have learned, and continue to learn a lot about her. I can only hope I can face adversity in my own life with the strength, grace, and dignity that she shows every day.
Ann is an active Glee Club member at The Heritage and music has been important to her for a long time.
Why does this song give you courage?
Ann is legally blind due to a genetic condition, but she remains undeterred by life's challenges and continues to sing. As a prominent soloist in our community Glee Club, she learns every word of every song by heart, rather than relying on visual cues. She resumed singing once she and her husband moved to The Heritage at Brentwood, and even if she reaches a point where she can no longer sing aloud, she will sing in her heart.
What did you learn about Justin?
He is a very caring person. A phrase in the song that is very appropriate for Justin is “all are welcome."
